The content of our work

According to the area coverage of the region, our unit is included in the JPO III category according to the area of fire protection units. It is therefore a voluntary unit providing departure outside the cadastre of its municipality within 10 minutes at the latest. Work in the unit is performed by its members free of charge as a hobby. In addition, there are three units of the JPO II category at the Havlíčkův Brod territorial department, which are already so-called semi-professional units with an exit again outside the cadastre of the municipality, but within 5 minutes at the latest. The members of such a unit perform service in the unit as their employment in a secondary employment relationship on the basis of a concluded employment agreement with the municipality. This means that at least one fire brigade is always on call during their normal employment. In the event of an alarm, they arrive at the fire station and go to the event. Other units in the district are included in the JPO V category. This means that they intervene only in the cadastral territory of their municipality.

The alarm is sounded to the unit from the operating center in Jihlava in the event of a fire by remotely starting a rotary siren at the fire station, by sending SMS messages to the mobile phones of the unit members. For other types of events than fire, only SMS are sent to call the unit. SMS messages can also be sent to all members of the unit by the unit commander using his mobile phone. The unit leaves no later than 10 minutes after the alarm is sounded. Every first Wednesday of the month at 12 noon, a siren test is performed with a test tone (ie a constant tone of 140 seconds).

The firefighting district of the unit consists not only of municipalities within the Sobíňov district, but in the first (lowest) level of alarm we also go to more distant municipalities. For a higher level of alarm, the fire extinguishing circuit of the unit is then further expanded by other municipalities.

The members of the unit meet regularly at least once a month. At these meetings, the unit performs:

  • preparation of equipment for MOT

  • maintenance and winterization of technology

  • maintenance of technical means of the unit

  • regular training, education and tactical exercises (long - distance transport of water, search for a missing person, operation of breathing equipment, work with a chainsaw, work at heights and above free depth, etc.)

  • physical training (training for competitions in fire sports, ball games in the gym)

  • engineers regularly perform fitness rides with equipment

  • CAS-25 and Ford Transit vehicle repairs

In addition to interventions, the unit also performs so-called other activities (some of which reimburse the costs incurred), provided that these are works and services related to the basic activities of the unit and that its ability to act is not endangered. These are, for example:

  • long-distance water transport

  • washing away mud deposits from the riverbed

  • elimination of difficult insects (bees, wasps, hornets) in places where they seriously endanger the lives and health of the population

  • water import

  • washing the road in the village

  • cleaning clogged sewers

  • assistance in activities with an increased risk of fire carried out on a larger scale (eg in local companies)

  • assistance in organizing a military day for children

All members of the unit must meet medical and professional qualifications. Every two years, everyone undergoes a preventive medical examination, which is prescribed by legal regulations (for carriers of respiratory technology, spirometry and ECG are also part of it). Upon entering the unit, each member completed basic training and then during the year participates in regular training organized by the unit commander (fire tactics, breathing equipment operators, news in the field of fire protection, first aid, practical training, etc.). In addition, the commanders have completed a weekly course and participate in regular training every year. Engineers also completed a one-week course and then participate in training every five years. Both specializations must be extended every five years by examination. Technicians, chainsaws and breathing apparatus wearers have also taken appropriate courses. The unit performs practical sawing and theoretical training during the year. Drivers hold a driver certificate of professional competence.

The Port. All application is used to transfer data between the unit and the Vysočina Region Fire and Rescue Service. The system is accessed via the Internet and it is possible to fill in the intervention report, keep records of the members of the unit and an overview of its equipment

In agreement with the unit commander, we perform demonstrations with our equipment for children in kindergarten or primary school and at events such as firefighting celebrations, children's camps or International Children's Day. We perform, for example, extinguishing burning gasoline with foam, liquidating cooking oil fire.
